If you’ve had an accident late at night, we won’t be able to replace your glass immediately. In this case, we will board up your window with plywood boards to maintain security, and arrange for the glass to be fitted once it is available. U-Value
The U-Value of the glass refers to how well it prevents heat being radiated outside. The lower the value, the better. To put the values into perspective, single-glazed glass has a typical u-value of 5.6, ordinary double-glazing is between 2.8 and 3.5, double-glazing with low-emissivity glass is around 1.8, and the low-emissivity glass with argon has in the gap is around 1.6.
